Hanging Stuff on 100-year-old lath and plaster walls

DecorAdventures by Jessica has good information on how to hang things on these old plaster walls.  We have some spots to re-do eventually and a new mirror to hang. Hanging pictures on lath and plaster walls can be a challenge.

Our high ceilings have picture rails in most rooms and that's another challenge.

Old-time Cures for Constipation. Yikes!

I love how our "boomer" generation likes to munch on "dried plums," heavens no -- not PRUNES like our parents.

Looking for some  natural cures for constipation and found good information...

Reminds me of how our dad would stir blackstrap molasses into a glass of milk for us kids to drink -- he called it "Tiger's Milk."

Apparently Adele Davis copyrighted (?) the name for her version of an energy drink in the '70's.

Nothing at all like our Zook family's "famous" drink -- molasses & milk.

Whiskey Off-Road Happens this Weekend!

The Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race sponsored by Epic Rides begins on Friday, April 24 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm here in Prescott, AZ and continues Saturday and Sunday.  Hundreds of mountain bike riders will start off from the Square in downtown Prescott and head out on trails in the Prescott National Forest.

I am more of a Peavine Trail mountain biker (Rails to Trails -- nice and flat and wide) when it comes to outdoor recreation,  but it's great to grab a cup of coffee and walk down to cheer them off. So nice to live near the Square.

Another big draw is the music...

Lilacs Blooming

I was working on the side of the house in the spring when I overheard a lady thank Steve for planting the lilacs in the front garden on Cortez Street.

She said they reminded her of childhood in Midwest. I always like to hear those comments.
